Graeme Corlet will talk on “Five years in Inner Mongolia: a geologist’s journey”. His talk will be more about people and places with some geology thrown in as encountered during mainly a grassroots campaign of mineral exploration from 2002 to 2007 across the length and breadth of Inner Mongolia.
At present Graeme is a consulting petrologist to mineral exploration and mining companies. He was previously exploration geologist for Ivanhoe Mines for seven years in China and Queensland. Previous to that was senior petrologist for seven years with Terry Leach and Associates in Auckland.
He graduated with a BSc Hons from the University of Auckland in 1984. His thesis was on the Eruption products of Mt Tarawera, 1886.
